Forelwater is a peaceful haven, nestled between oak, pine, and blue gum trees on the picturesque escarpment of Belfast, Mpumalanga. Forelwater offers beautiful surroundings, bird and wildlife, and exclusive privacy.
Accommodation is offered in 2 equipped self-catering cottages, which overlook a 12 hectare dam, stocked with Rainbow Trout every 6-8 weeks. Catch and release is allowed. Both cottages have a selection of single and double beds, and have their own indoor and outdoor braai facilities. Linen and towels are also provided. The two cottages, Berg & Dal, and Coot’s Cottage can accommodate 6 - 8 guests, and contain an open-plan living area, dining area, and kitchen.
Forelwater has been a favourite venue for Trophy Fishing since 1997, and guests are able to fish from the banks, from weirs, or from two boats which are provided for guests. The nearby Berg en Dal monument can also be visited. The farm Berg en Dal, the home of Forelwater, is a working farm with grazing Drakensbergers, Merino Sheep, and green maize fields. Guests are welcome to roam freely on the 1000 hectares, by either walking, driving, or mountain biking.
Berg en Dal Cottage is self-catering, and can accommodate up to 8 people. The cottage is comprised of 4 bedrooms with 2 double beds, and 4 single beds. A cosy lounge with a fireplace, bathroom with a bath and shower, and indoor braai facilities are also included. Towels and linen are provided. The kitchen contains a fridge, microwave, oven, and stove.
Coot's Cottage is self-catering, and can accommodate up to 6 people. The cottage is comprised of 3 bedrooms with 1 double bed, and 5 single beds. A cosy lounge with a fireplace, bathroom with a bath and shower, and indoor braai facilities are also included. Towels and linen are provided. The kitchen contains a fridge, microwave, and a two plate stove.
Local area description
Inyamazane and Forelwater are situated a mere 10 km outside of Belfast and 30km from Dullstroom. Conveniently, but unnoticed, next to the N4, on your way to the Kruger Park or Mozambique, in a Malaria free area. It provides an excellent base from which to explore the surroundings and many attractions in the area of Belfast, in the heart of the fly fishing country.
